Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Café & Centre Manager to help us build the business for local residents and the wider community.

Barnet Community Projects runs the Rainbow Community Centre on one of Barnet’s housing estates. Working closely with many partners, we offer support services and activities for local residents. Part of the centre is the Rainbow Café, currently open Tuesdays – Fridays. The centre is hired out for regular activities as well as one-off events and celebrations.

The Café & Centre Manager will enable the effective, efficient and professional running of the café and centre, driving income, increasing profitability and delivering against funding targets. You will be working closely with our Director and oversee a small team of paid staff and volunteers.

You will be joining at a time when we are focused on taking the café and centre to the next level, and the role offers much scope for development and shaping the centre and organisation.

We are looking for someone with solid experience in catering/hospitality management and ideally some building/centre management experience. You should be interested in working in a community organisation and have a flair for business development.

Hours: 20 hours per week over 4 days (shift basis)

Salary: £25,000 pro rata (£14,285 actual)

Location: Barnet EN5

Deadline for applications: MON 6 March 9am. Interviews will be held WED 8 March.
